Stressed and Burnt Out?

Are you a professional in your field?

A healthcare worker?

Involved in animal care or rescue?

Navigating the care for a sick or aging family member?

Maybe you’re a new parent, a social activist, a volunteer in your community.

Or just trying to find a better work/life balance in your professional and demanding career?

I am several of these things as well and if compassion is a demand placed on you every day, it can quickly drain your empathy reserves leaving you feeling worn out, numb, exhausted, and dreading the next day.

This can negatively impact the people, animals, causes, and relationships that we care about, not to mention our own wellbeing.

The good news is that this is a common and normal response to something called compassion fatigue, or burn out, and can be addressed in therapy.

We cannot effectively care for others without first taking care of ourselves.

Want to get started on caring for yourself as much as you’ve been caring for everyone else?

What does it mean to take care of ourselves?

Self-care is more than eating that piece of chocolate or drinking the glass of wine at the end of the day and throwing on a pair of fuzzy socks…

…It’s becoming empowered to make uncomfortable choices, learn healthy boundaries, and engage in daily habits that may appear boring and mundane but that provide a long term impact.

I will provide you with the space to explore your beliefs about self-care, take inventory of your current practices, and begin to make the necessary changes to find a healthy balance between caring for yourself and caring for others.

In doing so, we will restore your energy (and empathy) reserves so that you can feel rejuvenated in all of your undertakings.

Some small changes in mindset and behavior can help you obtain what you want from yourself and your life.

After all, this is YOUR life, right?
